Household Consumption Expenditure and Income: Analysis and Classifications

Household consumption expenditure and income can be divided into several main categories. For example, household consumption expenditure can be divided into categories such as food, clothing, recreation and entertainment, housing, transportation, and so on. Similarly, the main income subgroups of households include earnings from private sector jobs, public sector employment, self-employment, rental income, and others.

In the chart, users can select a specific year and category (consumption expenditure or income) to view the share of each subgroup broken down by deciles. For example, in 2016 (1395 in the Persian calendar), within the consumption expenditure category, the first decile spent approximately 42.4% of their total expenses on food, while this share was significantly lower in higher deciles.
